About this location
Connexxus was a feminist and lesbian community center in West Hollywood during the mid- to late 1980s. The founders Adel Martinez and Lauren Jardine brought together a wide network of lesbian, feminist, and multicultural projects in the space. It held a library, workshops, support groups, counseling, and social events. At its peak, Connexxus had an annual budget of over $200,000, which was rare for a grassroots lesbian organization at the time.
