Privacy Policy

Discovering Route 66 is a project of the June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives. This page explains what happens to the information you share with us, especially through the Community Submissions form.

Effective December 2026

What we collect

When you fill out the Community Submissions form, we collect your name and email address, the places you visited and what you tell us about them, any photos you upload, and your choice about how we may use your submission.

How we use it

We never publish your email address. We use it only to contact you about your submission if needed to clarify or ask a follow up question. We use your name, description, and photos only in the ways you allow in the form's permission question. If you choose "do not use my name," your name won't appear on the website or in the archive's public records. If you choose "No, not at this time," we'll keep your submission privately and won't publish it.

Submissions go to us privately, and we read each one before anything goes on the website. We don't sell your information or share it with anyone for advertising or marketing.

Where your information is kept

The form runs on Youform, which stores submissions on its servers (see Youform's privacy information). Submissions we accept become part of the June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives' collection, and the archives may keep them permanently, as it does with the rest of its collection.

Changing your mind

You can change your permission choice or ask us to take your submission off the website at any time by emailing contact@mazerlesbianarchives.org.

This website

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and places people look at most. Google Analytics records the pages you view, how long you stay, the website that sent you here, your general location, and your device and browser type. It doesn't collect your name or email address, and it can't see what you type into the submission form. We use these reports only to understand how the site is used. We haven't turned on Google's advertising features, and we don't use analytics to show you ads. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

To keep your visits out of our analytics, you can block cookies in your browser or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
